What will I be doing?



The Director will be responsible for leading, coaching and supporting a Regional Destination Marketing Team.



Crucial to this role is developing, driving and executing the regional marketing strategy in support of three key destinations: New York, Boston and Philadelphia. Responsibilities will include (1) Develop strategy and approach for defined destination(s) (2) Build in-market relationships and partnerships in line with business goals (3) Drive traffic and reach through content strategy (4) Leverage destination assets and relationships to support group business (5) Communicate value of destination marketing and Hilton marketing engine to key internal and external stakeholders (6) Manage business KPIs in support of commercial performance



People management and talent development are also critical to this role. This will include ongoing staffing and hiring decisions. The Director will need to effectively lead a team spread across multiple physical locations with a mix of office-based and remote-based Team Members. The Director will be responsible for not only creating a high-functioning team with a positive culture, but also helping grow and develop our future leaders.



More specifically, you will:

Ensure each destination has a tailored annual marketing plan aligned to seasonality, key demand drivers, tentpole events and business needs

*



Partner with colleagues in other primary and secondary destinations to build outbound source-market activity across markets.

Cultivate and leverage key in-market relationships, partnerships and resources (CVBs, DMOs etc)

*



Develop and craft local partnerships that differentiate Hilton in the marketplace, extend our reach and drive affinity for the Hilton brands

*



Lead and execute partnership activity including: placements in partner marketing channels, social media, content development, contests/sweeps, hospitality/client entertaining, exclusive discounts, etc.

Develop organic content strategy and curate unique and engaging content that supports our SEO goals and inspires consumers for their next trip

*



Manage site content on a regular basis to hone for seasonality and to drive KPIs

*



Partner across the sales organization to promote the destination and drive leads through group activations and other sales partnership activity

*



Promote destination marketing activities and the benefits of the Hilton marketing engine to destination hotels, internal stakeholders, management companies and owners

*



Lead market communications through a series of regular, established touchpoints (in person, phone, webinar, newsletter)

Collaborate across the organization (brand marketing, enterprise marketing and Honors) to leverage destination marketing assets for wider company goals

*



Ensure destination activities best support commercial performance for the market

*



Manage and track spend against destination budget

*



Build and sustain an entrepreneurial and agile team culture

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:



  • Ten (10) years overall experience in related roles

  • Five (5) years in integrated marketing and/or digital marketing

  • Five (5) years in an advertising, marketing, or media purchasing role

  • Five (5) years presenting findings (story-telling) to internal and/or external customers and providing strategic recommendations

  • Effective time management and project management skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Travel as required



It would be helpful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:



  • BA/BS Bachelor's Degree

  • Seven (7) years experience in integrated marketing and/or digital marketing

  • Seven (7) years of experience reviewing data, manipulating data and developing insights

  • Seven (7) years presenting findings (story-telling) to internal and/or external customers and provide strategic recommendations

  • Effective time management and project management skills

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite

  • Hospitality experience preferred
